FRANCE LOOKING AT LONG TERM ECONOMIC PARTNERSHIP WITH TANZANIA .


The Minister for Industry, Trade and Investment, Hon. Charles Mwijage (MP) hosted forty (40) delegates from Franch Business Confederation (MEDEF International) at TIC on 16th April, 2018. The delegates visited Tanzania to participate in the Tanzania - France business and investment forum which was held on 17 April, 2018. In his remarks the Hon. Minister highlighted investment opportunities for French companies. He identified focused sectors as manufacturing, agro processing, mining, energy and medical and pharmaceuticals. Hon. Mwijage informed the delegates that the government is prepared to fully support their planned investments in the country.  

In his remarks the Chairman of MEDEF International stated that French companies are in Tanzania for many years investing in various sectors such as of oil and gas. He added that presence of French companies proves that Tanzania is a good country for investment as French companies seldom invest in a country unless assured of political stability and attractive economic growth.

In his remarks the Executive Director of Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC) Mr. Geoffrey Mwambe informed delegates that investors wishing to invest in the country are facilitated through the TIC One Stop Facilitation Centre which assists investors to obtain various permits, licenses and approvals through one window. He mentioned that services provided include company incorporation, issuance of tax payer identification number, provision of industrial license, granting land derivative rights, delivery of work permits as well as residence permits, issuance of environment certificate and provision of standards certificate.
