‘Tanzania investment procedures are no longer bureaucratic’ by German Envoy .

Germany’s Ambassador to Tanzania Dr. Detlef Waechter has urged investors from his country to downplay reports that Tanzania’s Investment procedures are too bureaucratic.

‘Some German business people are little hesitant about investing in Tanzania but I always tell them to come here and talk to the government in case you face bureaucracy, and you will have your matter resolved immediately,’’. Dr. Waechter remarked when speaking to journalists at the Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF) also known as Saba Saba grounds in Dar es Salaam.

German interest in doing business with Tanzania is big, and commended the government’s commitment to making the country a middle income economy driven by the manufacturing sector by the year 2015.

‘This is ambitious plan which needs friends and partners to support it by venturing into more investments’ the envoy stated.

German was named winner of the best foreign country exhibitor category at 42 Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF), with Prime Ministers Hon. Kassim Majaliwa presenting the award on 26 Julai, 2018. It s the third consecutive year that German is taking active part in DITF since making its debut in 2016.This year the number of German companies participating has increased to eight from six of last year. Some of the German firms participated are Mobisol Ltd, Sunset Ltd and Twiga Cement

In a bid to attract more German investors to Tanzania, the embassy introduced a local branch of the German Chamber of Commerce (AHK) in April, 2018. According to the branch head Dr. Jeniffer Schwarz, the entity represents the interests of German private sector in Tanzania gives it a voice and helps it to grow among others services.

Schwarz said once German companies show an interest to invest in the country, the AHK Tanzania branch provides them with all necessary investment and market information.
