H. E. Florence Tinguely Mattli, Swiss Ambassador to Tanzania paid a courtesy call to the Executive Director of Tanzania Investment Centre Mr. Geoffrey Mwambe on 19th September, 2018 at TIC’s Office. In her remarks the Ambassador pointed out that Tanzania and Switzerland have a long history of cooperation in trade and investment.  The Swiss are investing in agriculture, health, tourism and education.  Among others, she advised the Government to proceed on removing unnecessary obstacles to create conducive environments for investors and attract more Swiss enterprises. She promised that his office will influence Swiss companies to come and invest in different areas/sectors based on the Government priorities.


Mr. Mwambe highlighted the fact that Tanzania is a potential country to Switzerland in terms of trade and investment opportunities. The Government is working on regulatory reforms to remove unnecessary obstacles to investors. Swiss can come and invest in industry, agro processing, transport, mining, real estate and health.  He also told the Ambassador to advise enterprises planning to invest in Tanzania to establish/ implement their projects through Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC). TIC facilitates investors to implement their projects in the country through TIC One Stop Facilitation Centre whereby investors are assisted to obtain various permits, licenses and approvals through one window. Moreover, he said that projects registered under TIC enjoy fiscal as well as non fiscal incentives providing a soft landing for investors.
