DAR ES SALAAM, one of the mega cities in Africa has emerged as the second-best cities in attracting Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in East Africa


DAR ES SALAAM, one of the mega cities in Africa has emerged as the second-best cities in attracting Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in East Africa after Nairobi, according to the recently published UN report. The report named ‘The states of African Cities 2003-2018’ jointly produced by UN-Habitat together with African Development Bank with School of Economic and Business Sciences and UK Aid ranked Dar at 14th  among 42 cities on the African continent.

 

Dar es Salaam received FDIs amounting $3.4billion. The first   attracted largest recipients of FDI were resources sectors as accounting for 34% of total FDI. Other sectors to receive FDI were construction, geological exploration and development import and export trade as well as whole sale and retail trade.

 

The report revealed that FDI tend to relocate....

 Leo tarehe 8 Machi, 2019, Kituo cha Uwekezaji Tanzania (TIC) kimeungana na Wanawake wote nchini kusheherekea siku ya Wanawake Duniani ambayo huadhimishwa kila mwaka tarehe 8 Machi. Sherehe hizo ambazo zimefanyika kwenye ukumbi wa Mlimani City, Jijini Dar es Salaam zimeshirikisha Wanawake kutoka pande mbalimbali za nchi. Mgeni rasmi alikuwa ni Mhe. Paul Makonda, Mkuu wa Mkoa wa Dar es Salaam na kauli mbiu ya mwaka huu ilikua ‘Badili Fikra Kufikia Usawa wa Kijinsia kwa Maendeleo Endelevu’.

 

 Katika kufanikisha tukio hilo  muhimu, sherehe  zilipambwa kwa maandamano, maonesho na utoaji wa elimu kwa Wanawake kupitia hotuba....

Tanzania has put more emphasis on industrialization as the main agenda for the Government


Tanzania is attracting investors both local and foreign to invest in priority sectors based on the Five-Year Development Plan II covering the period 2016/17 to 2020/21. His Excellency Dr. John Pombe Magufuli, the President of the United Republic of Tanzania has put more emphasis on industrialization as the main agenda for the Government. This aims at transforming Tanzania into a semi-industrialized nation by 2025; accelerate economic growth while making sure that the quality of that growth will benefit the majority of the people in terms of significant poverty reduction and job creation; and strengthen implementation effectiveness.

 

It is through industries that Tanzania will be capable of exporting finished goods as opposed to raw materials. The sector will also create employment, expand markets for agriculture products, and generate revenue to....
